INDOOR PHYSICAL TRAINING SESSION PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES AND COVID-19 COMPLIANCE
The government has announced that as of Wednesday 2nd Dec, gyms can re-open. Under current guidelines (capacity and social distancing) we are able to have semi private PT groups of up to six people (including the coach).
We will still have strict protocols in order to adhere to guidelines and ensure the safety and well being of all of our members as well as our staff. We ask that you all please respect our guidelines in order for things to run smoothly and safely.
If you wish to read our full risk assessment, please review here.
COVID-19: Indoor training sessions
Our community is our family and we take care of each other. We’ve always been dedicated to the cleanliness of our studios and the health and safety of our community. Now we’re taking it to an even higher level. So when we sat down to compile new appropriate safety measures, we went beyond the recommended guidelines.
Below are the details of our new plan but keep in mind this is just the beginning and things are constantly changing. We have a few more upgrades in the pipeline and as we learn more, we aim to constantly fine-tune and update our plan and this page with the very latest information – so please refer back to here if you have any questions.
The safety of the Club and its members has always been a high priority and we’re even more focused on it now. We aim to set the tone for our industry, so we’ve made changes in how we operate, all designed to keep our community and instructors confident and safe in our environment.
The instructors have all been trained in the appropriate practices to help ensure they run a valuable face to face session for each of you whilst remaining at a safe distance. Providing you with the level of personal training and individual approach you have all come to expect as a member of The Club, without breaching the safety guidelines. We’ve therefore instilled a protocol that limits the instructors from leaving their allocated area, aside from when taking equipment to clean prior and after each session.
NEW indoor session attendance process
Here is the new process for attendance and the changes you can expect, effective June 1. Please read this carefully as no one will be allowed to attend a class if they are non-compliant:
Two hours before your session:
ALWAYS abide by the Government guidance. If you are displaying symptoms, such as a high temperature, persistent cough, or a loss of taste and/or smell, you MUST NOT come to the studio. You must instead self-isolate for 7 days, and those in your household must do so for 14 days. You do not need to call the NHS 111 to self-isolate. If however your symptoms worsen during your home isolation, or you feel no better after 7 days, call or contact the NHS 111 online.
Before attending a session, you will be asked to sign our COVID-19 waiver form to declare you are happy with and agree to the health and safety parameters put in place by ourselves as guided by the Government. A reminder of this declaration will be emailed to you two hours prior to every class. You will also need to fill in a covid screening form every week.
Preparing for your session
Please wear clean clothing and ideally take a shower prior to your session. At the very least please ensure you have washed your hands for 20 seconds using soap and hot water.
Please only bring a pre-filled water bottle, mobile and car keys. You will not be able to store much else at the studio. We will allocate you a shelf to leave keys and mobile.
Please come dressed to exercise.
Do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to class
Please make sure you have as few personal items as possible (only keys, mat, sweat towel, and filled water bottle).
You will be required to line-up, two metres apart prior to the session to enable the instructor to check you in, ensure your waiver is complete, conduct your health check and allocate you your area. Please do not breach the social distancing rule.
Every instructor will be required to take a health check before every session. Everyone will be asked if they are fit and healthy prior to the session and if they are deemed to be unwell, we will follow Governmental guidelines and you may be asked to return home, self-isolate and unable to take part in the session. Please respect our coaches when trying to look after their, and others health and wellbeing.
We are asking both staff and members alike to wear masks when entering and leaving the studio (walking around fetching weights etc). When you are settled in your pod ready to exercise, you may then remove your masks.
Participation of indoor sessions
Please remain in or next to your car if you arrive anymore than five minutes prior to the session. Once the instructor indicates they are ready you can line up two metres apart at the designated area for you to check-in prior to each class.
As you are checking in there will be hand sanitiser for you to use. Please do as you walk in.
We have set out clearly marked areas for each member to exercise within for the duration of their session. Once checked in your instructor will designate you an area for the session. Each gives each you a generous two metres in which to conduct your session and keep all your equipment within. Please stay within your area AT ALL TIMES.
To limit hand-to-hand contact, we are not allowing any sharing of equipment.
Instructor safety – As noted above we have a restricted area in which the instructor can deliver your session from a safe distance. No one is to enter their area or any other member’s area. There will be clear floor markers to indicate safe distances around the outdoor area.
If you have a question or wish to ask for help, please do so in the comfort of the group and from your area. If you have a problem that requires physical assistance the instructors will assess from a distance and only when absolutely necessary, as safely as possible assist members appropriately.
Once the session is complete, please use the hand sanitiser, then spray the disinfectant onto blue towel to clean the equipment and floor area. Please dispose of the blue towel in the dustbin. Once all equipment is clean, please use hand sanitiser, collect your belongings, and leave the studio This will also enable our coaches time to collect, disinfect all equipment and prepare for the next session.
Please put on your mask when leaving your area to clean area
Please use hand sanitiser as you leave the studio
Non-Attendance and cancellations
Places are strictly limited in this new world. We need as much notice as possible if you are booked on a session and subsequently unable to attend. We have high demand for the outdoor sessions so there is always someone willing to take your place and keep the classes running at full capacity.
Therefore to allow as many members as possible to take advantage of these outdoor sessions we will be enforcing a strict cancellation policy of no less than 24 hours prior to the class. If your attendance isn’t cancelled more than 24 hours prior to your class and you fail to turn up, you will incur a non-negotiable £10 feefor non-attendance.
We would recommend that all members remain alert, stay safe and abide by the Government’s advice to help protect us all and the NHS.
With no other way to predict what the future holds, we will continue to do our best to prepare, respond and evolve as the situation develops, with nothing but your safety top of mind.
So whilst it’s a lot to take in and remember, we have tried to go above and beyond for you to feel comfortable enough to get back to enjoying and benefiting from face to face training with us. Whether you plan to join us or if you feel safer in the comfort of your own home, we are here to support you and we hope to offer everyone the same high standards of training as ever.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A CLUB MEMBER:
Keep yourself and each other safe.
Please use hand sanitiser, respect the space between you and others, and please wear your mask.
There are a lot of changes that we’ve put in place with reams of detail beyond what you see here (we’ve saved you from some of it!) However all the safety measures will only be effective if we all make sure we do our bit (good job Clubbers are good people.)
Please treat each other with the respect that you all deserve and go above and beyond to look out for each other. If you spot someone forgetting the rules, politely point it out to them. If you forget to fill in your waiver or feel slightly ill, please respect the instructor’s request to leave the session and return home.
Respect the social distancing guidelines at all times. Follow the markers and maintain a safe distance.
If you feel unwell or have any concerns about attending a session due to sickness, please notify us immediately and stay home.
If you display any of the symptoms for COVID-19 please inform us immediately and do not come to the studio until you are symptom free.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have knowingly come into close contact with someone that has, we again ask that you inform us and do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you’ve been given the all-clear by your doctor/the NHS.
This might all seem a bit overwhelming at first but as with other areas of life, as soon as we get started and into the swing of things, you’ll find yourself in that familiar place you know and love and able to enjoy your classes as much as ever.
We look forward to seeing your smiling faces!
